Transferring into CSE

So, I was admitted to the College of Liberal Arts after applying to the College of Science and Engineering. I plan on majoring in Physics and Math, and I was hoping that I could start out on an accelerated path in CSE (I even had hopes of taking honors Physics courses if I got into the Honors Program). I now realize that if I want to have the most rigorous Physics program possible, I have to eventually transfer to CSE, and then I don’t even know about honors. How does Physics and Math at CLA compare to Physics and Math at CSE? I think I could do fairly well in the majors just going off of numbers, as I got an 800 on Physics, an 800 on Math, and a 750 on Math Level 2 (Though SATs don’t really predict success that well), and I was hoping that I could advance as quickly as possible. By my senior year, I would be looking to take courses like Topology, Advanced Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Field Theory, and General Relativity. Does anyone have any advice?

UMN TC would be one of my more affordable options, even out of state, and I think I would like Minneapolis-St. Paul. The school isn’t really my first choice, and I’m waiting on a lot more schools, but I feel like UMN TC would be a good option. Thanks for any information you can give me.

In about 90% of the cases, the courses you take in Physics and Math in the first two years are identical. CLA and CSE students sit side-by-side in many of these classes. CSE will have sections and sequences reserved for their students, but you lose little by enrolling in CLA. My advice would be to enroll, kick butt the first year in all your classes and transfer into CSE.
