Hello, all. My first post here on CC. I am trying to transfer into UGA in a little more than a year.. and I just want to get on the right track.

I graduated HS in 2008, and joined the air force. I am currently taking my Gen Ed classes at a local community college where my GPA is about a 3.70. Although I didn't do so hot in HS. In fact, it's quite shameful how I did back then... but, will UGA look past this and see my Community College core class grades as the important factor? Also, will they take into consideration my military status? Thanks in advanced!

bump for some help

I don’t know the specifics on it, but I know in my case they overlooked my hs transcript. I had to mostly drop out in 9th grade due to medical issues, but they recorded what I did complete in homeschooling as all Fs because my tutor retired the same year and didn’t turn in all my schoolwork (what a mess that was to find years later!) After attending a community college 2 years I submitted my transcripts to UGA and got accepted right away, thats with HS Fs, a GED, and a GPA somewhere between 3.5 and 4.0 (don’t remember exactly, it was enough to graduate cum laude when I chose to complete my degree there before applying to UGA again to attend for a second degree).

Hope that helps you judge a bit, can’t give you any real inside perspective because they accepted me so quick, I didn’t have to question or talk to any departments.
