Transferring into UIUC Engineering programs

I've been wanting to transfer to UIUC for quite some time now and I want to know if anyone else has experience transferring into any of their Engineering programs as a junior. I personally want to do Civil Engineering and I've had the GPA to get in but then I took two courses over the summer and received C's in both of them and I've been completely stressing out ever since then because I'm pretty sure my chances of getting into their program is completely over with. I'm currently retaking both courses but want to know if I'm wasting my time with UIUC since I already received two C's in technical courses? I've heard that it is easier transferring into UIUC engineering program as a junior rather than applying as a freshman because it is hard for students to keep their GPA up because of the hard courses they've taken their first two years. I'm not sure how true that is but wonder if anyone else agrees or disagrees with that claim. Do they care about extracurricular activities as a junior transfer too? My last question is if its required for UIUC to receive all your transcripts from other universities. I took the classes at another university (UIC) and those are the only courses I've taken there so do I have to tell UIUC about them and is their system connected to UIC to where they would find out about me taking the courses anyways?

Yes, you need to send all of your transcripts and, yes, they are officially the same university so they should be able to find your transcripts in the UIC system.

ECs are not of high importance for transfer students.

Are you currently in a 4 year school or CC?

Finally, don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Yes UIUC is a great engineering school but there are others that are also ABET accredited in the state of Illinois and perhaps they fit you better.

Well they were calculus 2 and physics and I know they don’t like C’s. I’m currently at a 4 year school that I recently transferred into because I was going to get a degree in physics before transferring but with how small the physics department is its not working out and its set me back quite a bit (extremely long story short). I am taking one class at a CC right now while I’m retaking the other courses that I received C’s in over the summer.
