Transferring out of University of Scranton?

the 3 or 4 times a day is usually one text back and forth. i joined about four clubs, have been attending meetings, eating in the dining hall, going to the library often, and things like that. it’s not a sit in my dorm room and talk for 2 hours kind of thing. my current situation is giving me anxiety, scranton is a good school, and i am taking things day by day and being optimistic. i am not currently shutting scranton down completely for my next 4 years, but i am exploring other options in case what i am feeling continues beyond the beginning stages.

Sounds like a pretty normal amount to me. Probably on the low side for a teenager, in fact.

Sometimes a college doesn’t click with or fit for a student, despite genuine efforts to engage. It happens.

definitely not trying to get everyone on my side, and differing opinions do help but it’s harder to see better into the future and what will happen when i’m flooded with anxiety and feelings of being alone in the current day. it is early, i admit that, that’s why i’m just exploring options without really committing to anything yet.

Fyi, one of my closest friends graduated from the “U” in biology and went to Georgetown Medical School, did his residency at Stanford, and is a successful cardiologist in Seattle. You’re in a good place, IMO. Tell the BF you’ll see him at the holidays…

that’s good to hear, good for him. it’s definitely something i will have to give plenty of thought to, and for now i’m gonna stick it out and keep an open mind and see where that takes me. if only i could take scranton and move it closer to my hometown lol, but unfortunately that’s not how life works. thank you all for the advice!

Collegegirl–what did you decide to do? My son is starting in a few months for premed. Hope you are happy, sweetie!

SeattleTW–that is great to hear and very encouraging! My son is starting Scranton in Fall with major in Biomathematics and wants to pursue medicine. Does your friend have any advice? Do you know if he worked with Dr. Engel? Thank you for your time!!! Lori
