Hey everyone..im a freshman currently in skidmore college and i definitely want to transfer to USC next year..its always been my dream to go here..got rejected the first time round ><...is there anything i need to keep in mind? and also I am aiming to get a 3.6 gpa or above..where would that place me in terms of chances? I am applying with "undecided" as my major..

Average transfer GPA for USC is 3.57. However, you need to know that there are required prerequisites for almost every major--and one of the major prerequisites is that you must have completed two writing courses (one English composition class and one argumentative writing class) before they will even tell you if you are accepted or rejected (it's a California state requirement--so they have no choice).

Check out the articulation agreements they have for your school. If in doubt, call their academic affairs office. They will send you the courses that meet the various requirements if you tell them the major you are applying for.

Best of success. P.S. My son is also looking to transfer to either USC or Virginia.

Huh? USC is a private school and really they can do almost anything they want to...

Regardless, USC does like to see completion of GE courses, including completion of the lower-division writing requirement. I would contact admissions to find out which courses count for what at your college.
