Is there any other trasfer students on here that are in the process of applying to 4 year universities for the upcoming fall semester? If so, I think it would be pretty helpful if we all had a thread to ask questions, (hopefully) provide answers, and share experiences with the process. You know, that sort of thing.

Come January it'll be my final semester at CC in southern VA and I'd like to transfer to VCU. I already sent in the application and my transcripts and I feel really good about it. However, I also would've liked to go to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington...until i saw that the minimum requirement for math was something I hadn't fulfilled (and won't be able to before the fall) so there's really no point in applying there. I'm applying to another school near me (basically one to fall back on) and probably one more. I have a 3.4 GPA.

Just wanted to share :)

Yup, I’m looking to transfer and am currently enrolled in a Massachusetts community college. So far, I’ve completed 21 credits through 2 semesters, but this Spring I’ll have a heavier workload with 19 credits. I’m undecided on whether or not I want to complete my associates, but there are a handful of articulation agreements that intrigue me, such as guaranteed admission, 1/3rd off tuition, 5-10K scholarships, etc. So one could see why I would want to complete the associates degree instead of just gathering a bunch of credits. My community college has some transfer guides that I’ve been going by to satisfy the gen-eds at the local colleges, but even so nothing is set in stone. So far I have a 3.7-3.8 GPA but we’ll see how that holds up with the heavier workload.

How many credits have you acquired out of curiosity?

Wish you luck, and I hope there’s some more input from other CC transfers.

there’s a whole forum dedicated to transfer students, and a subforum specifically for uc transfers.

I have 52 credits in essentially 2 semesters, and I am receiving an Associate’s in May…possibly 2… VP of my Phi THeta Kappa Chapter, USA TODAY NOMINEE, and several other attributes… make the most out of CC and take advantage of opportunities like petitioning into an honors course!!!
