Transferring to a UC and I got a D in Calculus

So I’m planning to transfer to a UC in the fall of 2019, and I already submitted apps. I ended up with a D in my Calculus 1 class (bad professor), and i was wondering if I should just cram it in and retake it during the intersession so it could replace it when I report my grades. Or should I just take it over the spring again. My understanding is that the colleges will see that I already got a better grade if I take it during the intersession. But I’m not sure when I should retake it.

I feel if I take in the Spring, then it will not look as good because the grade is not already replaced.

It will not “replace” it if you took it during the intersession or at any point. Admission would be able to see it regardless, but with that said - I would take it during intersession especially if it is a pre-req to any of your courses.

I would suggest winter intersession. Keep in mind if you TAG’d a UC you’ll likely lose the TAG. I don’t think any TAG accepts a D.
