Transferring to Michigan w/ great college record, not-so-great high school record

Hello. I am curious about admission of University of Michigan. I did horribly in high school but I’m doing decent in college and I know that no matter how many credits you’ve completed, they still look at your high school grades. My high school gpa was a 1.7 with an act of 18. I was extremely mentally distracted with familial issues and had hard time even graduating. My current college gpa is 3.8 with 34 completed credits.

thoughts?

At this point, I’d say your chances are slim. I think another year at your current college with a 3.8-4.0 GPA will give you a shot. The more time away from high school you are, the less your HS statistics are weighted.

Most UM transfers actually come in after their sophomore year anyways.

confuseddumbass (chuckles), I agree with illinoisgolf, apply to transfer in January, 2019. That will give you an extra semester to demonstrate your current track record at university.
