Hi, just curious about this.
NYU has been my dream/top school forever, but I had to deny it due to financial reasons. However, it is a strong possibility that I may try to transfer in 2 years where my family’s financial status will be different. What are the chances that NYU would accept me again after I denied their acceptance the first time? And how hard would it be? Any information would help!
Your chance of admission depends upon the school & major to which you apply.
The fact that you turned down an acceptance two years ago will not be a factor.
I depends on how different their financial situation is. Did they win the lottery? The cost of attendance at NYU is well in the 300k range. It usually takes a normal family several years to save up even half of that, assuming you’re attending for 2 years. My concern is this…are they planning to co-sign large amounts of debt over to you? If so, do yourself a favor and …DON’T! That’s a big setup for failure.
You would be evaluated same as any other transfer student. Not taking up an admit before will not be held against you, they get many people who reject their places for financial reasons. Bear in mind funding for transfer students is more limited than for freshmen and depending exactly what you have as credit/what they accept and when you transfer, if successful it may take you longer than 4 years to graduate.
