Does anyone know if schools which contain major core curriculum requirements - basically every school on my list besides Brown - impose the same requirements on transfer students? I've completed somewhat of a core in my first two years here and was wondering if I would be required to take an entire new "core" at my desired transfer locales.

What are the requirements and what have you completed? I think the best thing you could do for yourself is to ask the school representatives themselves. They'll tell you straight out what they think and therefore you'll get a straight answer. It's a little confusing how you put it, have you done all the core requirements over your college years? I still thinking asking them is your best option.

Some of the schools that I am applying to do not have 'core requirements' but have recommended courses. This meaning that the person applying as a transfer should take these recommended courses and thus be more competitive compared to someone taking 'fluffy' classes.

many schools have an 'undergraduate core' so I dont see how it would make any difference if you were first year, transfer, or whatever.

Chicago makes you take the entire core as a transfer.
