I'll probably wind up going to Michigan State for financial reasons, but am wondering whether or not I should bother filling out the Common Application this winter. I've been attending Lansing Community college for several semesters now, and plan to continue there part-time for another two.

Here's an overview of my post-high school resume:

My cumulative GPA is currently 3.93 and will likely rise to 3.96 when I max out at 60 credits.

I've been on the President's List every semester except one, which I'll elaborate upon momentarily.

I've 4.0'd every semester except the second of my freshman year; I was very lazy and received a 3.5 in sociology (having not known that attendance was worth as much as the final exam) and a 2.0 in Intermediate Algebra (having not attended class or studied materials except on exam days)

I retook the math class, earned a 4.0, and have since taken up to Honors Calculus I (which I also 4.0'd).

I will not be taking summer classes in 2013, as I'll be traveling across the Middle-East and India.

Work-wise, I've been consistently employed since graduating high school. I'm a delivery driver at a sandwich store and might be getting another job delivering at Insomnia cookies. Before that, I was a crew member at McDonald's. Been working for about two years total.

I've volunteered at Sparrow Hospital for slightly over three years, starting as a junior in high school. I have really great references from there - they'd call me in to do orientations for MSU and high school students on weekends, and I can't honestly say I've heard of any other people my age being allowed to do that.

I was on the governing board of an RSO at Michigan State University as a non-student adviser. Did a few discussion panels in front of large audiences and presented a few intragroup PowerPoints.

I was previously involved with two other RSOs at Michigan State while in high school, with my membership in the first lasting for a year and a half or so. Didn't have any leadership positions, but did get to travel to Washington, D.C., and Chicago.

Served as a county coordinator for a (failed) congressional campaign.

Competed at a national figure skating competition. Lol.

Fenced from seventh grade until twelfth (not through school) and wrestled from age six to fifteen.

Did martial arts (Aikido) for about a year.

Have participated in a few other quasi-official volunteer positions - helped teach "Learn to Skate" lessons, for example.

No crazy extracurricular activities from high school - I was a terrible student and graduated with a 2.86, despite having had good ACT scores (my composite was above the 90th percentile, with about half my subscores being above the 99th). I do have several great letters of recommendation from eleventh- and twelfth-grade instructors, if that counts for anything.

I usually list my major as Physics and will be taking the MCAT for submission to medical schools within the next year-and-a-half.

That's really all I can think to add. Thanks to those of you who might answer; if I can help you out or return the favor in any way, I'll certainly try to do so.
