How hard is it to transfer to UF from a private University in FL? I’m a freshman and a finance major. I had a 3.88 GPA last semester, haven’t finished this semester. I still have 4/5 prerequisites to take, would it be better to transfer to a community college to get those classes out of the way then apply? I’ll have 53 credits at the end of this semester (20 came in from high school). Thank you!
The advantage Florida CC’s have, is that UF will automatically accept almost all CC credits. If you’re transfering from a Private college, you should check with an UF advisor and make sure all of your classes will transfer, including the tracking/prerequisite classes.
I would only transfer to the CC if you needed to take a class not offered (or accepted by UF) at your private college. Otherwise, complete your classes and then apply for transfer.
However, available slots, for any transfer student, in Finance are very limited. You may get denied, simply due to a lack of space and be offered the BABA program (a BA in Business Administration).
Sure, as long as you meet all of the tracking requirements. You also have to have 60 credits (I believe) and be a junior. If you have enough credits from AP/AICE/IB/DE, then you may be able to transfer after 1 year. Biology (BS) is one of the more competitive CLAS majors.
@gator88NE I just feel like a BABA isn’t as strong as finance Do they care about extracurriculars or just GPA? Because I’m in a sorority and 2 clubs and I might have a job as a tutor and I’m hoping to get an internship this summer as well.
