i am considering transferring to ua for fall of 2010 and will be entering as a sophomore.
i wanted to know if the transition process for a transfer at ua is difficult or easy, and i would like to take part in greek like and was wondering if you are still able to rush as a sophomore?

First, you’ll go to Bama Bound and you’ll meet kids then. Along with the info sessions and registration, Bama Bound has a fun evening pool party at their rec center.
:)

UA has a nice “Week of Welcome” (Wow week) the week before school starts - new kids move into their dorms a week early. Lots of ice-breakers, including special parties for OOS kids by region.

UA has several other ice breaker activities for new students - see this link for the thread about some of them … http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-alabama/796197-bama-bound-roll-tide-river-alabama-action-wow-week.html

Are you a guy or a girl? There is also some kind of Greek preview that is in the spring that you should take part in. do you have anyone who can write some Greek recs for for you? those always help. I’ve written some for girls who’ve wanted to pledge my sorority which is on UA’s campus.

Yes, you can rush as a sophomore. For girls it’s the week (or so) before WOW, so those girls move in their dorms early for that. For the frats, rush is sometime after school starts.
