Hi I am a sophomore at Collin college and planning on transferring to UTD. I have a cumulative gpa of 3.17, completed 41 credit hours. I will also be taking about 13 credit hours of classes in spring. I failed one of my classes and repeated it in the summer. It is replaced as A now. Can someone please tell me if I have a chance or not. Also could applying during early action increase my chance?
It appears you will be assured admission if you do well in the Spring. UTD requires 42+ hours, a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good standing at your present school. http://www.utdallas.edu/enroll/transfer/admission-requirements/
Just keep your GPA and you should be fine.
Thanks GTAustin. So would it be better for me to wait until the end of the semester?
Just as most state colleges in Texas, UTD don’t have any deadline when you can apply. Apply and get accepted, you can enroll in following semester.
Good Luck.
It appears so. You are one hour short for an assured acceptance. If you applied now, it would be a reviewed admission. Since you are already signed up for 13 hours for the Spring at Collin, I would complete that and apply as soon as you got your grades. If you wanted to do it sooner, you could join the Comet Connection. That seems to have some advantages because it gives you early advising. By joining, I think you are committing to UTD but if you already have made that decision, it could be a good choice.
Thanks guys.
