I just finished my freshman year at UW Bothell. I was going to major in elementary education, but soon realized it wasn’t really for me. I would rather pursue a major available at the Seattle campus but not the Bothell campus. I know it’s apparently really difficult to transfer to the Seattle campus from a four year college, however, whenever I tell people about this, they tell me about people they know who have successfully transferred, so it’s at least possible. My GPA is a 3.91. A professor referred me for a tutoring job on campus, so I might be doing that next year (not sure if it’ll help my chances). I plan to talk to an adviser soon. What else could I do to increase my chances of getting accepted?
Just a note: I am planning to transfer after my sophomore year.

Need to transfer - your major not available in your current school helps. As would taking classes or jobs related to your proposed major.
Completion of transfer prerequisites done by community college students: https://admit.washington.edu/apply/transfer/tools/academic-planning-worksheets/
Transfers need reach, match and safety schools, too. Don’t just apply to one school if you really want to transfer.
