so i plan on transferring to a cal state. Most likely CalPolySLO, hopefully. Does anyone know the average transfer GPA for admitted students for the engineering department?

or other cal states like long beach, san jose, los angeles?

Can you post your stats?

Los Angeles pretty much accepts anyone as long as you have a GPA at 3.2 or above (the minimum is probably much lower). I would figure that all other calstates hover around the same GPA admit average. CalPoly is probablly tougher. Last time I checked, I think they accepted roughly 40% of all transfers with average GPA of around 3.4 or 3.5. Also, they tend to accept less minority students (I think the campus is 60% white or something), if that says anything.

dude, anyone can apply to cal state la and get accepted without a 3.2 lol

(I'm trying to increase my number of posts)

i think i'm going to have about a 3.4 by the time i'm done and i work about 40 hours a week while taking 17 units. Would they care that i work that much? SLO would be the school i would love to go to, hopefully i get accepted.

go here: http://www.ess.calpoly.edu/_admiss/undergrad/prospective_transfer.htm

then click student profile on the upper right (under where it says quick links)

You have a pretty good chance at Cal Poly and you would get into all of the other Cal States. You didn't want to apply to any UCs? You would definitely get into UCI and UCD and would have a very good chance at UCSD (if you are in state)

"San Pedro, CA"

brilliant observation, Worried Student :D

"brilliant observation, Worried Student"
lol, wasn't paying any attention. It was 5:30 in the morning. :)

wow, this is really building my confidence. Hmm, if you say i have a shot at UCI then i might just give it a try.

this might be a dumb question, but isn't the UC app. cycle done for the year?

yeah its done, and so are the CSUs's

he may be talking about next year
