As a transfer student at Cal, is it possible to transfer from 1 type of engineering to a different type of engineering? I will complete the prereqs for both types (EECS and engineering physics). I want to go to EECS but my GPA is not very competitive (3.77 from UCSD- EE major) so I'm afriad I wont be able to get into EECS. I'm planning to complete also the prereqs for engineering physics and apply to that major, then change to EECS once I'm in (since I'll be having prereqs completed for EECS too). Is it doable?

Thanks!

Q: Can I change my major?
As an applicant, it is possible to change your college and/or major during the November application filing period ONLY. You should write to the admissions office at Berkeley in November, but no later than November 30. Any requests submitted after the deadline will not be honored.** Transfer students are not permitted to change majors after admission to the College of Engineering.**

if you want to do eecs then apply to eecs.

well that’s what berkeley says. My friends are doing eecs at berkeley and they say there are transfer kids that are trying to transfer to eecs from mech E and they say it’s possible. Any personal experiences similar to this?
