I’ve been thinking about transferring because I only got accepted in UCR and UCSC for Economics. I was just wondering on how hard it is to actually transfer from CC to UC? Could you guys give me some tips or what classes I should take that are maybe the easiest? Also, could previous accepted Economic majors list their GPA’s and extracurricular please? Thank you
My D is a transfer student at UCSD from a cc majoring in Communication with a minor in business. She had thought about econ as a major, but did an aa degree in business at the cc instead. She transferred in to UCSD fall of 2016 and her GPA was 3.93 and she had completed IGETC before transferring. I would suggest that you look at the UC Transfer forum and look at the accepted students to see what the econ transfers GPA’s are. You will have a better chance transferring from a cc to UCSD than from another UC. The UCs are committed to taking a certain number of transfer students from cc’s that qualify each year over UC transfers. Good luck.
Thanks for the response. Oh yeah for sure looking into that. The only downfall I have right now is a C in college level stats. I took it in high school. I have over 300 hours of community service though. @showmom858. Do they look at high school EC’s? Also, do you think I’m screwed because I got a C in stats? I’m going to start off with a 3.4 in 14 units
@GrammyWinner - I think you should be alright with the C in stats. UCSD does not really look at things like community service when reviewing the transfer applications from what I have heard.
@GrammyWinner - I don’t know if the college stats you took in hs will even count towards your cc GPA. I looked at the UC Transfer forum and found some UCSD accepted Economics students posted their transfer stats. The lowest transfer GPA was 3.5 and the highest was 3.86. That was just looking through a few pages there.
@showmom858 Yeah I’m not sure either whether it’ll transfer over or not. I’m just going with what people have been saying. I took 5 classes at mission college and am most likely going to De Anza for transferring. Is there a way you could find out whether these courses will transfer? I couldn’t find out and I asked a counselor as well and they told me the obvious of going on assist.
You need to put the classes into assist to see what will transfer.
@showmom858 is there an option for CC to CC? I’m not saying it. Do you think u could help me and tell me if it’s going to transfer? My classes were English 1a, physics, u.s history, stats, and microeconomics. And will this be apart of college GPA or my transfer GPA
@GrammyWinner - you need to talk to a counselor about how these will count. My transfer D did not have cc classes in highschool so what you are talking about did not apply to her.
