<p>I am just wondering if any of the people applying to UW as a transfer have had a change in their status? I know that the admission office deals with freshman applications first, but I am curious. </p>

Completed online appplication end December 2009, documents received on January 13 2010. Status still “Your application is awaiting an initial review”.
Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for them to complete review and come up with the unofficial transcript? Wondering if I have to accept my other offer which is needed before May 1.</p>
<p>I would accept the other colleges offer. According to the automated message from the admissions office fall transfer applicants are admitted in June. You can always accept admission to another school and then retract it. =]</p>
<p>This wait is killer. I applied in December and it still has awaiting initial review. I listened to a podcast about uw transfers a while back and it said something about how they won’t even start looking through transfer apps until about mid-april. I’m torn on whether or not to accept admissions from other schools. I’d hate to lose the deposit. But I probably will because if I don’t get into UW I want to make sure I’m in somewhere.</p>
<p>I’ve had all documents/materials in since early January and I’m still “Awaiting Initial Review.” !!! Does anyone know about housing applications? I’m a little bit confused, can we apply for housing now or do we have to wait until we are accepted? I’ve been looking for the link for the 2010 Fall Semester apps but all they have on there is the 2010 Spring. Are other transfers applying for housing or getting apartments in the area?</p>
<p>TeeniWeeni: The housing FAQ says “You must be accepted to the University of Washington and have set up your UW NetID to apply for the residence halls. You cannot apply before you have been accepted as a student.”</p>

<p>It’s been like that for over two months. :(</p>
<p>Staks–that’s my plan too, put in a deposit SOMEWHERE so I know I’m going to a college, and then switching to UW if they accept me. What a pain, though.</p>
<p>I check my UW account for the status of my app EVERY DAY and it is still at “Waiting initial review” WHYYYYYY!</p>

<p>Same thing. It’s getting pretty frustrating, because I applied for the Summer quarter. They do know that’s only 3 months away, right?</p>

<p>I’m also applying to the mechanical engineering department, and it looks like their application doesn’t open until June. Really frustrating considering I was accepted to WSU a few months back.</p>

<p>Tiburon17–I think so. From what I’ve heard, transfers are last priority when it comes to housing.</p>
