Transfers

I applied to CAS... still seeing the "Cornell has not made a decision......." I'm going crazy waiting! Hopefully the rest of us will hear soon.

Good luck, fellow transfers! I have my fingers crossed for all of you.

Any acceptees get that letter from Peggy Walbridge yet? (I'm in CAS so don't know if it applies to everyone). I have no idea how to decipher it...something about classes I'll need/have taken?

did anyone hear anything from cals yet?

I got a letter from the director of transfer admissions at HE congratulating me for my acceptance and informing me that more info will arrive. Ironically, this letter was sent out before the Case for Cornell folder, yet the folder still arrived before the congratulatory letter did.

And on the bottom it says the acceptance is conditional meaning I must pass all my classes with satisfactory grades (Bs and As).

Do transfer students get nominated for any awards/scholarships?

I've been going through this forum and found RD and ED applicants selected for various scholarships and awards.

Just wondering..

Everyone who has already found out ----

-how did you find out first -- online or by mail?
- did you get a thin envelope or a big one?

I got it online first. (Friday Morning)

Then I got the Case for COrnell. (Saturday Afternoon)

Then I got a thin envelop from the Transfer Director. (Monday Afternoon)

And if you get a thin envelop first. DO NOT BE SCARED. Because according to the post mark, the thin envelop was sent first. But for some reason I got the case for Cornell first. But had I received the thin envelop first, I would have assumed it was a rejection since it was paper thin. But it was only a congratulatory letter. So thin or thick don't mean a thing.

I applied to HE. I don't know if this would be the case for everyone.

I got it online first (Thursday night/Friday morning 12:29am [yeah i checked that frequently so i can narrow it down to that])
I got the thin envelope kkl speaks of tuesday afternoon, still no case for cornell (I'm guessing that's info on deposit, etc? Hopefully I can get housing in in time to get the xfer dorm). The delay is probably (hopefully) bc I live in florida, so we'll see

where do you plan on dorming flyingfencer?

i'm down to cascadilla or transfer center. but from what i heard, cascadilla is probably full.

Was the thin letter you got personally signed?

I think thats just a sincere lil thing from them.

flyingfencer,

You already got a (positive) decision from CAS???

cals is taking FOREVER.

kittykatt, what major are you applying to in cals

AEM and it's killing me to check every 2 minutes

hello,

i've applied as a transfer student to the ILR school...

...here's the deal on transfers. Most (if not all) of the applications will be reviewed on April 22nd. This is a friday. You can call in on the following monday (the 25th) for your admissions decision. This is what Mary Van Arsdale (dirrector of admissions to the ILR school) told me durring my transfer interview. Then, i guess my mom didn't believe me, so she called cornell herself, and they told her the exact same thing. Now, i'm not sure if this is for the entire school, or just for ILR, or if it's also the same for just the land-grant institutions (ILR, CALS, HE).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed! So far, I've gotten into my backups (Binghamton U, and University at Buffalo). But Cornell is the best! Good luck to everybody else!

Cheers,
Dan

CALS too? but what about the people who already got in?

cornell is slow dammit.

i dont know about the kids that 'already got in' ... i'm just reporting the information Cornell gave to me

i'm applying to animal science and it's killing me too... i'm also checking every few minutes....... i emailed cals tho, to see what their specific time frame is... i'll post when i hear.
