Transfers

my msg still hasnt disappeared for cas!!!

sorry to hear that toph, but good luck on other decisions!

man..cals is slow as heck...grrr

seriously, they should at least change the message to make things more interesting... maybe "sorry, we've been busy," and then "Oh, you again!" and then "djeeze, stop checking already," and then "you're IN... just kidding" and then...

'cause that same BORING message is still there when I check every five minutes; I wouldn't mind some hint that the Cornell Admissions office is still breathing (let alone up and deciding!). If I'm accepted, I promise to work for the Cornell Admissions office and change the applicants' messages daily (*hand raises toward head in patriotic fashion).

Thanks kitty, but like I said, the worst part of this is that this kind of killed the confidence I as finally experiencing from the schools that accepted me. My top three choices are the three schools that haven't responded to me yet, and this rejection took a little chunk of my confidence that had been built by my acceptances.

Good luck to everyone else who applied. :)

I'm sorry to hear that you were rejected Toph, but you've gotten into some pretty amazing schools so you'll do well wherever you go. I expect you'll get into several of the remaining schools as well and you will have decisions to make come late May. Good luck on your remaining applications and congratulations on your great acceptances.

By the way, should I even bother checking their site? I applied to the College of Engineering, is there any way they would decide whether I was in or not before May? I ask because I check about 3 times a day on the off-chance that they did anything to the page and NOTHING! Grrrr... what a way to waste my day away.

Thanks Eddie.

And Cornell only updates their site once a day. It usually seems to be between midnight and 12:30 am. Most people seem to say that they got theirs updated at 12:20-something, so I'd just chec about 12:30 am every day if I were you. Unless you have early classes and go to bed earlier than that, then I'd just check in the morning.

My three remaining schools will be difficult to get into. I applied to the business programs at all three of those, which are all very difficult to get into. I'd love to go to any of those three schools though. Hopefully I get into at least one. And I'll be very happy to attend any of the three schools that have already accepted me as well. My goal was to apply to schools that I'd be happy at, and I think I accomplished that.

Good luck with getting into your schools Eddie.

nobody from cals has heard yet???? grrrr....

just moving this back up............ ;)

Please keep me updated josiedog. I'm planning on doing the same thing as you. I got a 2 year guarantee to CALS and am going to apply after 1 year from a good LAC. Thanks!

no problem... happy to help my fellow-"really-want-to-go-but-they-said-wait"-transfers.... what major do you want to be in?

Well I got it for Science of Natural and Environmental Systems but I'm trying to get it changed to Natural Resources. The two sound really different huh? Well, the math requirement is much more doable for NR.

I'm starting to wonder how easily they give these transfers out and if it's really worth jumping through the hoops. Cornell is great but I'm sure I'll like Bard as well. How do you feel about this transfer arrangement?

ok the msg STILL hasnt disappeared even though it says in the status page that my app has been sent to cas for review ... uncertainty is cruel

i'm okay with it because i really really want to go to cornell... animal science... preveterinary... i know that a degree from cornell will help me in the future... however, i wish that it had been a one year -- so then i wouldn't be waiting now.

hey guys anything new? any changes with the "msg"?

nothing new here.

i'm expecting it to change on friday.
crossing fingers

same old message up.

No changes here... :(

-Eddie-

oh i really hope it changes on friday crossing fingers too... i wonder how fast cals review their applications. mine got there like a day before the deadline and then there was a problem with one of my references (stupid prof. didn't send it in), so it was late.... i know cals is rolling but do you guys think that there's a chance i'll hear relatively soon? i sure hope so.

you'll probably hear soon...

Thought I knew there is no way my message would change today as I just sent the course descriptions this morning, I still checked. Of course it's still the same old evil sentence.
I'm now inclining to think engineering adcoms did not start the whole reviewing process till the second/thrid week of April as they just got to mine, which should be received well before 15th of March.
