<p>I just booked our flight for the Bama Bound trip!! I am wondering if anyone knows about transportation to/from the airport? Am I on my own, in terms of renting a car, or is there a service provided by UA?

<p>Are you coming by yourself? If so, I don’t think you can rent a car.</p>
<p>If a student is coming by themselves, they will not be able to rent a car as they are not 21. Even if they could, the under age 25 fee would make an airport shuttle much cheaper. UA does not run airport shuttles for Bama Bounds, so you would have to take a private shuttle or have someone 25+ drive a rental car.</p>
<p>Look up Birmingham Door To Door. Both of my sons arrived by plane for Bama Bound AND Alabama Action on their own (one is now a Senior & the other a Freshman). They were very helpful. I would provide the link but I’m replying from my phone. </p>
<p>FWIW, many students travel alone to Bama.</p>

<p>There may be an increase due to fuel costs, but in August the rates were $85 each way or $135 roundtrip. I typically take their shuttle when arriving in August and leaving in May and highly recommend the service.</p>
<p>Son used Prestige Limo recently, student discount of $99 one way, so it might pay to coordinate with some other student and just pay 1/2 the rate each. They were very prompt.</p>

<p>This is a very good rate compared to what I pay locally in the Northeast area.</p>
<p>Son needed very early transport time which some other service companies could not provide.</p>
