My daughter has an interview at the Health Sciences Campus this week and afterward will need to get to the 30th Street Amtrak Station. I'd appreciate any opinions on the various transportation options. She will have approximately a 2 hour window between the interview and her train, and if time allows would like to grab a bite to eat. Thanks CC'ers.

If she’s comfortable taking the subway, she can take the Broad Street Line SOUTHBOUND(towards AT&T station) from Allegheny Station (a few blocks away from the Health Sciences Campus) to City Hall, then transfer (it’s free to transfer), to the Market-Frankford Line, going west(towards 69th street) and get off at 30th street.

However, if she does want to get something to eat, I would suggest going on the Broad Street Line subway, and getting off at City Hall. But leave the subway and get something to eat somewhere along Chestnut Street (south of the station). There are plenty of restaurants/cafes and stores for shopping if she has time. Then, once she’s finished eating, take the regional rail train from Suburban Station (only a few blocks from Chestnut) to 30th street.

The simplest option would be to take a cab. Also most expensive. There are also places to eat at 30th Street Station.

Just wondering, is she taking an Amtrak train from 30th?

Thanks for the info. Yes, she is taking Amtrak later today from 30th St. station, why? Is there something wrong with that station?

Oh, not at all. The station is beautiful, probably the best one in the city. I was just wondering if she was taking Amtrak or regional rail, because regional rail train stations are throughout the city, but Amtrak is only at 30th. So, if she was taking regional rail she could hop on any train from any train station. But I bet you already knew that.
