hi
did anyone here get into cornell with this guaranteed transfer option?
thanks

hi
I'm a GT for ILR, and (we) still have to send Spring midterm and official Fall gpa reports. The decision will probably be made after March since that is the deadline.

are you a one year or two year GT?
where do you currently go to school? what year are you?

hey, I’m also a GT for ILR. I’m currently finishing my first year at a college in mn…I’ll be transferring next fall!

Are there any 2 year people anymore? But ya I'm a GT too...

First year at Boston University; GT for Fall 2007.

why BU?
are you ready?
good grades?
did you write the essay?

figgy
ur ILR gt?

ILR GT’s don’t have an essay to write…at least I hope not ;)

I don't think we need an essay.
BU cause its fun there, and I have a good financial package.
I actually have the grades, but it was hard work.
I don't think I'll be ready until I visit/ go through an orientation at ILR.

Yup, n I'm at Stonehill College right now. If anyone is an ILR GT for class of '10 reading this right now, make sure to join our facebook group so we can all collaborate!

whats the name of the facebook group called

quick question
lets say you are somewhat financially deprived.. parents separated.. mom has an ok job.. dad doesnt pay anything..
would you get more money from a private school (cornell arts and sciences) or from a state school (cornell agriculture/life)?
in the end.. for which would you paying less for? private or state school?
thanks

the facebook group is: ILR GT's '10
as for the financial aids provided, i'm not too sure…i don’t really think that the amount of aid would differ between the colleges...i’m not certain tho!

Not sure about that, but if ur from NY (which ur a resident of I'm assuming...?) it's a pretty low tuition at the contract colleges.

ya… the tuition for a ny resident is about 29,017 as opposed to 43,757 for a non-resident!

yes im a ny resident
what do you mean contract colleges?
see..
i hear with state schools.. you get less aid.. since its cheap already and the government already aids everyone already...
but private schools are more expensive.. and gives you more aid...
overall.. which comes out cheaper?

OK well first of all people don't call them "state schools" vs. "private schools"...they r all private because they r all Cornell. NY doesn't control them. But yes I guess ur "state" schools are the contract colleges. They r much cheaper for NY residents. Not sure how the aid is, but I'm sure the cost is pretty cheap no matter what since its so much cheaper to begin with...

The statuary or contract colleges are components of Cornell, they have been designated by the state to receive public funding… and even though they’re affiliated with SUNY, and receive funding, SUNY has practically no power over them…(I don’t really know why people think that this minor affiliation makes the contract colleges state schools ;0

ok
so overall
with financial aid..
which will come out cheaper?
