For students who have been admitted to both Smith and Mount Holyoke, are you thinking to visit both? Smith's open campus and discovery weekend is 04/10-12, while Mount Holyoke's one is on 04/12-14. Both schools provide travel assistance. Does anyone know whether these two schools can coordinate so that a student can visit both in one trip? I know I need to call them on Monday. Before I do that, I would like to hear some experience and opinion on it.

Did you look at the scheduled events for the two programs? MHC’s doesn’t begin until lunchtime. if I were to guess, I’d think that the two schools have scheduled their events to facilitate attending both programs. I’m sure they know there are probably a lot of students, like you, who are visiting both schools! It’s nice of them to schedule them back-to-back like this for you :)

@txhandan, could you kindly elaborate on your travel assistance comment in the OP? I could not see anything regarding such assistance on the invitation. Thank you very much for your time.

Smith provides travel assistance for the Smith Open Campus and Discovery Weekend, while MHC also provides assistance for its visit. I don’t know whether the assistance is for everyone or just some.

My daughter’s email said “as a scholarship recipient, you are eligible for travel reimbursement”, so maybe not everyone. We just sent in the Smith deposit, nice to have that decision made!

Yes they let you know if they are willing to reimburse your travel expense. For D1, we accepted a chartered bus ride from MHC back to New York. For D2, we didn’t request for the funds as she rode the bus up which we could afford and we picked her up by car - we could have requested mileage but we didn’t.

I was offered a paid trip to Smith but not MHC. I was able to set up my return flight so I can stay in the area but now I’m trying to figure out where to stay - I’m trying through the admissions office to get a current student to host me at a dorm. But if any admitted students want to split the cost of a hotel room PM me. Looking forward to visiting the campus!
