It’s out of season but I have a pair of the altitude fleece joggers from last year. They have not pilled.
Here they are in tight form but I have them in a jogger. I also have a pair of cozy karma joggers but they aren’t fleece but are cozy and warm. Actually a little too warm for me.
Try merino wool, it’s temperature regulating, naturally non-stink and don’t need to wash often, and comfortable in a range of temps. There are several brands I like, including Icebreaker, wool&, Woolly, and Woolx, all make joggers. They are pricier than synthetic materials but I think worth the extra cost.
Thanks for these great suggestions. I’m really more interested in joggers or pants NOT leggings as then I’d have to be more concerned about the length of my tops. I do have wool baselayer tops and baselayer tank top to go under my exofficio blouses.
I just get cold easily and will likely be wearing the garments in 40s-60 degree weather, which is cold to me. I also have Uniqlo ultra warm leggings to wear under the pants/joggers, if needed.
These are my go to fleece for NY and Northern CA winters and I have several pairs. I am 90lbs but I wear M because I don’t like anything snug on me. They have enough structure so they don’t look sloppy. Machine wash and dry, no pilling. https://a.co/d/5f0aV4c
These are fleece lined pants joggers but not so thick. I wear them around the house and do errands in them. https://a.co/d/8UHTjZh
I resisted the jogger craze for long time since I will not wear high waisted pants nor ones with a hanging crotch (aka - the wearing an adult diaper look).
LOVE these. I have several pair of the warm/fleece lined ones and many pairs of the light weight version. Great travel pants. Wear the ones that make you comfy from your departure area and put he other type in your carry on.
How was the sizing of the Costco jogger pants? The postage to send to HI is about $8/pair, so adds to the cost and makes me less inclined to buy multiple to figure out what size will fit me best (though in the past they have always refunded the postage as well as the item when I’ve returned merchandise).
OK, I’ve ordered it in a medium too–nice to have it comfy instead of too snug. If I don’t like it, I can easily return at nearby Costco. Too bad they usually add postage to HI orders.
I have to say that the wool tank tops and wool base layer long sleeved shirts kept me very comfortable in my exofficio blouses. An unexpected bonus of the blouses is how easy they were to keep neat and attractive. At a lunch, I spilled 1/2 cup of oily sauce all over the shirt. I dabbed it with clean wet washcloths and it ALL came out and no sign of my spill and dried before we left the restaurant! The wrinkles also hung out right away so I always felt i looked presentable.
The hidden zipper pocket on the side of the blouses was a nice bonus.
I live in those Costco tech joggers during the winter! Go-to pant for working from home and our 8-hour car rides to visit S, DIL & GD. Have worn them on the airplane as well. Leggings are not flattering on me, and these look nice enough to go out and about in my community or sight-see in them when traveling. Wish they had more colors!
Sharing for the guys of “Dad” age and above out there who like to look like they put in some effort. We’re heading off to Italy for 3 weeks in May and I’ve been on a shopping spree since I don’t want to look like a typical American tourist in jeans and hoodies - not that there’s anything wrong with that of course.
We’re doing a fair bit of running around to different areas combined with exploring on our own plus excursions/ tours so pretty varied circumstances, and we’re only bringing international-sized carryons so space is tight.
For technical pants I swear I’ve tried 8+ different brands. Lululemon, Alo, Vuori, Mizzen & Main, Duerr, Bylt, Public Rec, etc. I wanted both a set of low-profile cargo pants (i.e. low key, not screaming cargos) and a very lightweight pant in case there’s a spike in weather up over 80F.
For cargos I settled on these. They’re a mid-weight material, decently stretchy, and a bit less casual in black. I wanted one pair cargos just for the security of having my valuables in the side pockets. Not quite as stretchy and comfy as I’d hoped to find, but these were the best of the bunch and quite nice nonetheless.
Got these for lightweight technical pants in hot weather. These are very, very comfortable. They don’t really look like joggers due to the fabric, but there is that bit of telltale extra fabric in the crotch. I expect it’ll be covered by whatever shirt I’m wearing so they’ll look convincing as actual pants.
A more formal looking 5-pocket design that’s almost equally comfortable that I didn’t choose but it was a close toss-up with the fleet pant. I’d choose these if I was planning on tucking in any shirts, which I’m not.
Got a couple of these to wear in lieu of t-shirts when I want to look decent. The woven technical material is much nicer than typical non-woven 100% nylon/poly fabrics. I like M&M’s polos too and am bringing one or two as well.
Got this because honestly, Italy + linen feels utterly iconic in my head. I love linen and this one has a tiny, tiny bit of stretch vs 100% linen. W said “but what about wrinkles” to which I replied “wrinkles are a feature, not a bug”.
I basically live in these shirts during cooler months. It’ll be perfect for the looong planes ride and cool evenings. Guys, I swear this’ll be the most comfortable mid-weight long sleeve you’ve ever tried, Nike and Under Armour gear included. Actually quite similar feel to Lululemon quarter-zips which I love. Conquer Reform Crewneck Long Sleeve - Espresso | Alo Yoga?
For jeans I’m wearing my usual Seven for All Mankind Luxe Sports. Not gonna lie, they’re insanely comfortable and actually more comfortable than any of the pants I linked above. I think they call the style Performance Plus or Stetch Tek now. Trying is believing, they basically feel like jeggings for men.
Shoes are tricky. I need one pair for everything. So it has to be good for long walking excursions on cobblestone roads plus looking decent with the clothes above. In a perfect world I’d pack along a pair of my Olukai leather slip ons, but no space unfortunately. Still trying to decide between these two.
