Great suggestions. I’m going to check out the links for my husband.
For our trip to Italy last fall I bought my husband these pants. They are comfortable for traveling, lightweight and look good for touring and out to dinner.
He got them in the obsidian color.
He needed a 28 inseam and the Lululemon pants fit the best of those we ordered. We also ordered similar from Athleta and Vuori.
Well I got a Target jogger and one from Costco. Both were quite reasonable (under $20 apiece) and overdue additions to my thinning wardrobe.
Also bought H a Columbia omniheat down vest as he has been cold with his thinning Patagonia down vest and was looking for something to replace it. This vest was 50% off and navy and thin. I think it will be just right, as the omniheat doesn’t require as much down.
On my recent group tour of Sicily, I noticed many women were still nicely dressed (fitting pants, nice sweater and shoes), but men looked like they have given up (pants 2 sizes too big, old sweat shirt).
Huh - the whole reason I’m planning on dressing nicer than I do at home is to blend in better with the locals! I’ll have to report back; I’ll mainly be running around in Rome and Tuscany.
Anyone here used Kuhl’s clothing? I ordered and just received a pair of Kuhl’s FreeFlex Move pants - they are incredibly light and comfortable. Will be trying these on my trip later this week - will report back on how they hold up. I did get a second pair of the roll-up pants, but that one didn’t fit as well and so is going back.
ETA: The length of these pants is perfect for me - I ordered the “tall” size.
I have a pair of Kuhl shorts that are easily headed into year 5. Love that they are neat and flattering enough to wear around town and rugged enough to wear hiking. They ALWAYS earn a spot in my suitcase!
If it’s a good fit for you, you may also like the shorts (coburn) by Stio. A tad shorter and a hair stretchier.
The Costco black joggers I ordered (on sale for $9.97+ $8 shipping & tax) just arrived. They’re very comfy and look dressy enough for my travels. The Columbia omniheat down thin vest I bought H also arrived and is very compact while being toasty warm. It is size small, but since it runs large and he’s between S/M, it fits nicely. It was 50% off end of season clearance plus 7% back in Mr Rebates!
This was a good purchase for me. When it’s hot outside there are times I don’t want to wear shorts, or even a skort or skirt, but want something that isn’t heavy. These pants seem similar to my Athleta Brooklyn pants but much cheaper. I also like the non-jogger ankle area. It makes it a smidge dressier and easier to put on and take off.
