Anyone else applying for this upcoming summer? Anyone know how many spots there are this year?

Yes I have applied to Trials from this year and I havent heard anything back yet. I dont know how many spots they have out there anyways. But has anyone heard anything back yet? Or does anyone know whats supposed to happen next in the process? Please let me know if you know anything. Thanks and good luck.

“There have been more than 5,000 applications so far. Twenty students will be selected for this summers program.”

The entire thread comes off as obnoxious and spastic, but the information provided is helpful.

Has Anyone recieved any call backs or anything of that sort yet?

I applied as well and haven’t received anything back. According to the older topic finalists last year were notified by now. Keep on hoping though :/

“You will receive an admissions decision by April 15th of the year for which you are applying. For specific questions regarding your application, please contact us.”

Directly from their website. Still got a couple weeks maybe.

I applied too, hopefully theyll call in the next few weeks

I’ll be checking this thread for updates! best of luck to you guys!

From the confirmation email they sent:

“You can expect to learn of an admissions decision by May 1, 2010. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us.”

Looks like we’ll have to wait longer this year

Hello people,

I also applied. When I submitted my application, I was informed that they would notify me if they wanted a letter of recommendation from a professor of mine, otherwise, I was done with the application process. I was expecting them to ask for a letter, but they never did. Did this happen to anyone else. Just wanted to know. Good luck to everyone!!!

the e-mail says May 1, 2010, but the website says April 15th

Does anyone know anything specific about the program?

Last year, finalists were notified by mid March . . . has anyone been notified?OMG this is nerve-racking.

Its driving me nuts. So noone has heard anything back yet?

I think people were notified sooner last year because the program was relatively new. I did notice the discrepancy between the dates, but I’m hoping we’ll all be notified by Apr 15th.

this waiting is driving me crazy. I am postponing alot of jobs/internships etc because I want to hear back first haha

if anyone hears anything PLEASE post it up

From what I understand, we first need to be notified about being finalists (last year there were 60 of them), and subsequently those finalist will be interviewed via telephone. Therefore, there’s a while to go before the final decision. Echoing what everyone else has said, if anyone hears about being a finalist let the rest of us know!

JUST GOT AN E-MAIL SAYING I’M A FINALIST!!! Anyone else? I’m so excited/nervous!!!

are you serious??!?

What did they say???

Seriously? I have not heard anything and I applied the 1st week possible. I guess I didn’t make the finalist cut. I thought I had a pretty strong application (grades/personal statement). When did you apply?

I got an email on April 7th saying that I was finalist for the program as well. I applied February 8th. The email says:

"Dear TRIALSHopeful,

I am writing to let you know that you have made it to the final round of admissions to the 2010 Trials class. While acceptance to the program at this point is still very competitive and by no means certain, we think you should be proud of what you have already accomplished: your application was among a few dozen selected as finalists from thousands initially submitted.

Here’s what you need to do now to help us proceed with the selection process:

1) In order to be accepted to the program, you will need to provide verification that your academic record is complete and accurate. Please check to make sure that the numbers that you reported to us online are absolutely correct (if there is a discrepancy for any reason, let us know immediately). Then send me official transcripts from your current or most recent undergraduate institution and copies of score reports of all the standardized test scores you reported to us.

2) At this time, please submit two letters of recommendation. At least one letter should come from a professor who has taught you in a class. Letters of recommendation can be forwarded to me by mail or email. My contact information follows at the end of this email.

3) Over the next two weeks, a representative of the Advantage Testing Foundation will conduct a telephone interview with you that will take up to an hour. I will be in touch soon to schedule the interview.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me."

Good luck everyone!
