So I've been assigned to Trojan Hall. Good/Bad? And if bad, bad enough to request reassignment?

It's the Dean's hall...I wouldn't have wanted to live there, personally. If I were in your position I would have requested a reassignment, but that's up to you.

It also depends on what your defintion of bad is.

Well, I still can request it

what is so bad about trojan hall?

If i did want to request a change, should I do it when I send in my contract or after I move in (can until August 30)

yea I have the same question. Why is trojan hall bad? and how soon do we have to send in the reassignment request?

Trojan Hall is just sort've old and I don't think it's been remodeled in a long time. I mentioned this in other thread, but Trojan Hall isn't all snobs, engineers, and overly-studious students, however, it is definitely more quiet than the other halls.

Just hope you don't get the first floor, because it's like a dungeon where sunlight does not reach...

If you want to be in the very middle of the social scene or you get assigned to the first floor (which you won't know until you move in), you may want to apply for reassignment.

It smells kinda funny...like Annenberg (the apartments). But I guess you get used to it. It's a great place to study though, from what I've noticed just visiting there. The ideal dorm would probably be New/North or Marks...that's if you want to have a lot of fun and don't plan on studying too much. Cardinal Gardens and Century are not bad for apartments.

I can go the library if i want to study, but I don't want to live in a library

I'm requesting out, what are my chances of getting out?

I actually did a reassignment too for this coming year. They told me about 40% of reassignments go through, but you have a better chance if you apply for the less popular apartments/dorms...and it is first come first served.

And if you really want to get out, do reassignment now and not after school starts (it seems rather annoying to repack and move a couple weeks into the year)

I posted briefly about Trojan Hall. In short, it's not bad, some like it and some don't.

but it’s a great place though
