@oneyeartransfer If you are asking about TTP’s getting SGRs (since this is TTP thread) - not that many do if they submitted stellar grades for first semester and they were one of those 4.0 type students in HS that got the TTP instead of admitted (and there are a lot of them). If grade history is less predictable you may get SGR as TTP, but a lot of TTP’s are notified in April/May, before grades come out for second semester.
If you grades are solid, such as a 3.8 and 3.6-3.8 for sciences, you likely won’t see one, but don’t sweat it if you do.
Hey guys- I received the TTP option this year in my rejection letter. Since I’m an international student, and really want to visit a few universities in the US before my final decision (including USC), I would like to visit around SC whenever we are scheduled to meet the counselors. But I need to start working on my visa process now, which is why I need an approximate week in June when the counseling usually takes place. Do they use the entire month of June for counseling or early or late June?
Please use the current Trojan Transfer Plan thread - this is from last year - since it is the last one posted it, it rises to top of thread list. Please use this one:
Hi everyone! Last year I received the TTP in my rejection letter, followed through with the TTP, and received my admission letter around late March! It was the happiest day of my life and I thought I’d share some insight and advice for those high school seniors during this stressful and important decision-making season.
For those considering the TTP: DO IT! If you guys are 100% sure that USC is still your dream school, I highly recommend pursuing the TTP. Although I did miss out on the freshmen experience since I attended a community college for 1 year, I absolutely do not regret my decision because I will be spending 3 whole years at my dream school! Personally, when I was choosing between enrolling in my back-up universities or pursuing the TTP through a community college, I decided to choose the TTP because I knew I would much rather be spending my expensive college tuition on a school that I know I will actually be truly happy attending.
My thoughts on community college: Although there is a pretty negative stigma about attending a community college, my experience wasn’t bad at all. I was worried about getting good grades to meet their minimum gpa, but honestly, my classes at community college were MUCH easier than my high school classes. I obviously still worked very hard because I wanted to do everything I could to increase my chances of getting admission. But, getting a 4.0 is very feasible. Also, you are only going to be going to the community college for 1 year (time will fly super fast I promise) and you will be saving a ton of money! Almost 40% of USC’s transfer students come from community colleges!
Basically, as long as you receive a 3.6 and above, complete your major requirements, make progress towards completing ge’s, and send in a transfer application, you are basically guaranteed. When I talked to my admissions counselor, she told me that GPA is the most important factor that determines your admission. There is no need to pursue extracurricular activities/clubs because your GPA is the most important!
Overall, I can say that my transfer progress was successful and I am very pleased that I decided to pursue the TTP. I completely understand how worried and anxious you guys are because I was in your place a year ago. But trust me, if you just follow what your admission counselor tells you to do, you are basically guaranteed admission!
Best of luck to all of you and feel free to ask me more questions! Fight on!
Hey guys, ill be graduating high school this year however beacause of my subpar grades and the fact that i took no AP classes i didnt even bother submiting an application so i decided that transfering into USC would be best for me. My mom went to USC as an undergrad so can i still be eligible for the plan even if i didnt apply, if yes, then how???
No, the TTP is offered only to applicants who were borderlined or well qualified applicants that had to be turned away that USC admissions liked. I believe you have to apply during your sophomore year for your junior year at USC.
@F0shizleMynizzle , the plan is offered to freshman applicants (and from what I can suss from these, threads, they’re primarily legacy applicants, but offers are also extended to some non-legacies.) If applicants accept the TTP offer, they can transfer to USC after just a year elsewhere (so you transfer after your freshman year, not sophomore year).
Since you didn’t apply, you should look into regular transfer options (and search for USC transfer threads for specific advice). Good luck!
Hey! I was wondering, did you get the request for spring grades when you went through the TTP? I just received a letter requesting for my spring grades even though I’m on the TTP.

Hey everyone, I just found this website and I need some serious advice. I’m a freshman and I’m currently in the middle of my spring semester at a California CC and I am a part of the Trojan Transfer Plan.
I had a 3.6 at the end of my fall semester, a 4.0 in winter, and at the end of this semester I should have around a 3.6. I will then have 30 credits. I applied for Fall 2017 and haven’t heard anything yet but I’m worrying about one thing. I am currently taking my first credited English class and I’m enrolled to take the second class in the summer and will have it done before the next school year starts. Will it hurt my acceptance? If so will they at least offer Spring? Please help this is driving me insane.
@m5girl9 Did you get your offer package? May 20th was very late for TTP…sorry, I didn’t see your post earlier. I hope you called USC after you posted!
Not sure if everyone has moved on (I expect so) but would love hearing from any TTP Class of 2020 applicants and if they got in and if you are going to USC or staying put. Or from anyone that didn’t get in…if you feel like posting.
We have seen it written that anyone that gets offered TTP and hits the gpa requirements (generally speaking) does get offered admission. I still wish it was an absolute guarantee. After getting “rejected” it can be hard to trust that you will get in…the fear of being rejected again can be very real, even if slight. Would be great to hear some results from this class if anyone is around anymore…
