I see that Hanna is projected to be in the area of Kings Point at 2:00 AM Sunday. I would assume this would mean we will have a wet weekend. Being from Michigan Tropical Storms do not come into the mix.

Any hints or help would be appreciated. We will be praying that it slows down over Suzanne's house in Virginia.

I've lived in Wilmington NC since '94 and lived in Charlotte through Hugo. I have gone through a dozen storms. I'm not too worried. I do have a rain coat and umbrella in my bag. If storm hits i'm only worried about the plane ride. I can't wait to go back to KP!

Hmmm.
Looks like, for part of the trip, Hurricane Hanna will be driving up I-77.
It looks like it will visit addresses for APE and Zonker about 2am Saturday.
(We'll leave out some trashcans, to distract it... hey, worked for Hurricane Hugo ;) )

To all new parents you need to get to use to bad weather and parents weekend (and the other events). It is either too hot or too cold. The food is never good and the beat retreat is always too loud(and steaming hot) and the football team always loses. GET USE TO IT! Your Plebe only wants to see you and get into New York City and have a decent menu. Enjoy the weekend! I will be there also (but not at the beat retreat-going to a Broadway show) RJ

zonk,
I sure hope it turns up the coast. I'm not gonna be at KP, I'm gonna be in a tent in Flat Rock NC. that's the plan.
if you're up there, get a photo of him.
I'm probably gonna head up there later in the month. will let you know via email.

Steve I like the part about slowing down over our house...maybe the Lake will finally fill up. Just bring rain gear. A tropical storm is usually quite rainy and quite windy so an umbrella does not work.

Sg. you are right, of course. umbrella will be too flimsy to have much of an effect on slowing down a tropical storm.. For that, you're going to need the Sky Hook or Cloud Anchor ;)
