Troubles Deciding Upon an Essay Topic

I am having a difficult time coming up with an essay topic that showcases who I am in a positive light, namely because, being something of a social hermit, my life's been remarkably unremarkable.

I have a great fondness for foreign culture, history, and art, and possess a deep affinity for the curious and bizarre, strange and outlandish, and surreal and fantastical. I also have an immense wanderlust. I often dream of traveling the world and visiting many different countries. I suppose it would be best to describe myself as curious, for better or worse.

Anyway, I am considering using the time I saw Cirque du Soleil as an anecdote, because ever since, I've had this idea that I would like to work in physical theatre. Could this work, or would it be best to find a story where I'm more involved?

Although, I guess going to see a widely renown show is hardly unique, now is it? I suppose I’ve answered my own question. Oh well…
