I've heard that Ivy League Colleges look more at the CR Score on the SAT than the Writing Score?

Is this true?

From what I’ve heard, most places value CR & math more highly than writing. I’d assume this goes for Ivies as well.

I’d hope not! My CR is 100 points lower than my writing!

Though the math and critical reading were at first paired together, many colleges looked equally upon the writing since it’s addition. However, I can’t recall which Ivy school, but one of them only had the math and cr reported on Collegeboard…

CR is slightly looked higher on than writing, that’s why a number of colleges say they don’t care about writing score and only count the CR+M score.

But a lot of colleges nowadays also look at the overall /2400 score in consideration so it shouldn’t be that important if your writing score is lower than CR. But for example, if you had a 720 for CR and a 560 for W then that might pose an a slight question.

I’ve asked this question of admissions officers at the top schools. Most didn’t give a straight answer and just started talking about holistic review again; some said that all sections were considered equally.
