Hi I am currently a sophomore in college and I am applying to transfer in Spring 2018 for Fall 2018 admissions. I am currently only taking 9 credit hours. For the 4 credit hour class I will get an A but for the 5 credit hour class, I think I will end up getting a C, which is a Physics class. Should I still take it or drop out of it right now?
I believe that a C or better is required to transfer the course so there’s no need to drop or retake it. As long as your GPA is a 3.0 or above you should have no problem getting into a decent or maybe even good university.
What is your major? If your a pre-med, you might want to drop it.
Hey man first of all, thanks for replying! Yea my gpa was 3.7 or 3.69 after freshman year. My major was architecture but I am trying to transfer to Northeastern University for Computer Science. I am not even required to take Physics. So I should just take the C even though it is a 5credit hour class?
Take the C. It is a passing grade.
But why do you think that C is the best you are going to be able to get in that class? You are only carrying 9 hours right now. That means you should have plenty of time to go get help during the professor’s office hours or at the campus tutoring center.
While you should not drop the class, I agree w/ @happymomof1. Is a “C” your current calculated grade? If so, with some effort, it’s possible to boost the grade up.
It’s cuz I am taking a semester off from the college I go to. Those 9 credit hours are from a community college 2 online classes and the school itself is an hour away. So I should take the C instead of dropping? Will this hurt me a lot even tho its a 5 credit hr class? The reason I think I won’t get a B is cuz this class is by letter grades 90~100 is A 80~89.5 is B. @TransferStalker
Take the C.
Commit to getting the work done, and see if you can get your grade up.
What on earth are you doing the rest of the time if you can’t keep your grades up in only 9 credits worth of online CC classes? Stop wasting your time on that other stuff, and hit the books between now and finals.
