All I want to do is find out if Tufts has any merit aid or a monthly tuition payment plan.

I've been to the website 3 times. There is no "tuition and fees" link off the main page. There is only "Financial Aid." I click thru the financial aid section every which way and it just circles back to itself. I cannot find the answers to my questions anywhere.

I manage a website for a living. I study human factors and usability. And I'm about to flunk the Tufts website. (And why does the "request information" form request that the student identify up to 4 parents with name, relationship, and email?!?!)

Anyhoo, can any of the CC experts here answer my questions about merit aid and monthly payments?

Thank you.

Of all the colleges my D applied to this year, I have found the Tufts website to be the least user-friendly and least manageable. It's very difficult to navigate and find the information you desire. And guess where she's going? Looks like I'll have to figure out the website one way or another!

And I can't answer your questions because I haven't figured it all out for myself yet!

I am just trying to register for an information session and the website just sends me in circles. When you click on the link it sends you to register. When you sign in after registering it sends you to the same link. I guess we will have to call, but a website this irrational sort of worries me about the place.

Like the students who attend Tufts the website is a little quirky :)

Just returned from a Tufts visit:

They do not offer merit aid, that is probably why you cannot find it on the website. I'm not sure about the monthly plan though.

S just graduated on Sunday from Tufts. For 4 years, I have relied on Tuftslife.com (the student-run website) for links to ALL CRITICAL INFORMATION. Hope it helps you as much.

I like the Tuftslife website too. I mostly use that.
There are small scholarships available for National Merit Scholars.
Also, I believe there are a few merit scholarships that are available
after freshman year.
Don't think that you will receive any significant scholarship money though.
My kid gets $500/year for the national merit scholarship.

worrywart, I do love tuftslife.com, but if I were looking for Financial Aid stuff, it would just link me to the same Financial Aid website that people are claiming is problematic. It's really unfortunate, but I've also noticed that on the deans' website I'd keep getting redirected to the same page over and over while trying to find their contact info. I should probably email the administrator about it.

There are some merit aid programs, but they're modest and used as substitutes for loans in aid packages, I think. I think someone posted a link a while ago to all the Tufts scholarships, but I'm not sure where it is. I'll try and search for it :)

lol yeah. it's confusing. this is why i google what i am looking for and put "tufts" or "tufts.edu"...usually the former works better.

Hi,

I've graduated in '07, but as I recall Tufts did offer a payment plan. For more information on the financial services -- see this site: Tufts University Financial Services

I hope this helps.

Vlad

Hey Vlad,

You were my source of all knowledge when my son applied to Tufts (he just graduated last week). What're you up to now?
