After i finish FAFSA, i got an email, saying TAP also is a financial aid program.
I tried to do it, but TAP doesn't allow me to send it to many colleges.
So i have submitted it to only one of my thirteen colleges

What do i do now?
just wait till TAP email me back that my tap application is completed
and send it again to my second college?
please help!!

I am NOT certain about this but until you get a more reliable answer my BELIEF is: the form you completed for the HESC calculates your eligibility for TAP (NYS Tuition Assistance Program). You list one NY school on the application, presumably the one you are most likely to attend. If you end up going somewhere else in NYS, the award can be transferred. TAP is a very small award and can only be used for an in-state school.

skier is correct, you can only enter one school on your original application but it won’t affect your eligibility to receive TAP at another NY school. As far as it being a small award, it really depends on the student’s situation. The maximum award for the 09/10 year was $5,000. Next year’s awards have been cut by $75 across the board. It’s a need based award, but not “small change” for low EFC students.

I was told online by HESC to do one for each school repetitively but I haven’t done it yet because the person who answered the phone didn’t exactly inspire my faith. The schools themselves actually post deadlines for when TAP should be completed and most of those dates are in February so he might be right. Seems to me that in order for the school to have access to the form, it would need to have that school’s name on it. Then there is also the problem of having more than ten schools and not all the NY schools are on the same page. Does redoing the Fafsa for the new list of schools eliminate the possibility of the TAP withdrawing the info from the first list???
Heeeeeeelp!!!
