Tulane and EA financial aid

Tulane is the only EA school that has accepted D and yet not sent an FA package. Profile was sent in November, FAFSA in January. And yet, constant “commit to us, are you coming to Tulane” type emails.

Come on, Tulane. What’s the holdup?

Yeah, I know. There is a real disconnect between admissions and FA in this regard. Tulane doesn’t send out FA packages sooner for EA applicants than for RD applicants. If history holds, you should be getting their FA package in about a week.

Well a week would be nice. Nicer still if it had come before the March 1 Scholars weekend.

I have never seen Tulane do it that early. I don’t know what others schools do differently, but this is how I have seen it every year since Katrina. Except one year something happened and they were really late, like end of March spilling over into April for some people. But that was a while ago and just once.

Two years ago, it was March 20 when D got hers. Seems like all of the others came sometime in March too.

It finally came today, I was missing some docs and hadn’t checked the portal, and they didn’t email to ask. I will say it’s an amazing package, just $1K more than Amherst, whose FA is widely considered to be among the best. Need to figure out how to get down there so she can take a good look!

I sat down tonight to calculate real net costs and even though Tulane started out as my most expensive school, it’s somehow become my cheapest – even cheaper than all three of the in-state public schools I applied to.

That’s great, @OHMomof2‌ !! Good things come to those who wait, eh? I hope you can get down for a visit as well. Go soon, before finals are imminent.

I sure wish this weekend wasn’t Easter. It’s by far the best one for us, still spring break. But it appears nada is happening at Tulane, or so it looks from the visit calendar.

It’s Spring Break at Tulane too.
