@Goose15 Did apply for financial aid?
@201five - I applied for the Paul Tulane Award but the deadline is Dec 5.
@goose15 Thanks!
Tulane has a the GIBSON PORTAL for Financial Aid AND For those getting MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS (which are separate from Financial Aid) … thats in addition to the GreenWave Portal everyone uses to check on status of your app.
CONGRATS… so exciting!
SEE! I knew she would make it. Congrats on the Hard work you did for her.
for the families that HAVE 160K for “seed money”" thats a great idea!!
There is nothing wrong with going EA because of the possible Financial Commitment. Colleges especially the expensive ones know this.
Has everyone gotten their Gibson Portal email? I didn’t receive one this morning.
ZeeMe, my apologies, but I am not following. What do you mean by “I knew she would make it”? Do you you mean that if you applied EA, but not for financial aid, that if you were sent a link to the Gibson portal, it means they are awarding you merit aid? Sorry for being confused on my end!
DD accepted and over the moon. Can’t wait for her to begin her adventure. Polar opposite of her sister, Lehigh 2020. Should prove very interesting…
Lehigh is a fine School, we lived in Bethlehem for 4 years. And its a terrific for engineering, obviously, that is often overlooked by people, its also a great bargain, relatively speaking.
@goose15 Daughter applied EA. Gibson portal: under “to do list,” “requirements,” it says CSS profile - profile received. It doesn’t say “admission decision pending review.” She applied on 10/6.
@Goose15 I applied on 11/13 and my Gibson portal says “admission decision pending review”
My S received the same email about Gibson. I think is just to check for financial aid status. EA decisions are coming out in December.
Just a current Tulane freshman dropping in to say good luck/congrats to all of you (the first for EA and the second for ED, since I believe ED has come out already!)! I remember being where you are just a short time ago (I applied EA), and I really wish you all the best! Just because I saw some people asking about it on a brief jaunt through the thread, last year many people (myself included) got letters in the mail, then heard through the portal. They do update online as well as sending an acceptance letter in the mail, and where you hear first really just depends on when your letter arrives, based on my experience! Anyway, I’ll see myself out now, but good luck!
@princessbex13 Thanks so much… I know that will help some people. Glad you are enjoying life there.
Anyone have any more up to date news on when the Tulane EA decisions will be released?
Per http://tuadmissionjeff.blogspot.com/2016/09/anxiety-and-12-tips-to-reduce-it.html
EA letters will head out for most students in mid December.
Would people suggest attending both an admitted students weekend and a CAST day? Or, if we can only fly down to Tulane for one - would it make sense to go for the weekend and do the virtual session for CAST?
And good luck to all the EA folks who will start hearing soon!!
