I tend to agree. Tulane admissions is somewhat predictable. If you are reasonably strong you are admitted ED. If you are not incredibly strong with demonstrated interest, you will not be admitted EA - lots of deferrals and encouragement toward ED2. That’s their game. I don’t love it, but they are certainly transparent.

My daughter withdrew, so truly do not know. I do know a number of her friends heard EA around Christmas.
I don’t have a kid applying to Tulane this go-around, however my D19 applied EA, was deferred and then waitlisted (she’d already made her decision to attend another school, so didn’t accept the waitlist spot), and the ED2 offer was totally what happened to her. She got the “want to switch to ED2” emails: the first one was on 11/20 of that year, soliciting the switch to ED2 (she didn’t respond), then got deferred in mid-December and subsequently got three more emails (on 12/23, 12/30 and 1/3) about going ED2. The subject line was “your deferred application” in the first two ED2 solicitations and then they lightened up the subject line to “ED2 Upcoming Deadline.” So, IMO there was active solicitation for the ED2 situation. We would have been full-pay and she showed no demonstrated interest.

According to Undergraduate Admissions, you’ll hear back by January 18th (Important Dates, Deadlines, & Forms | Undergraduate Admission).
My DC was accepted EA. No mention of a merit award in the acceptance letter. Does that mean there is no chance for any merit award?

Automatic partial tuition merit scholarships are awarded in your admissions letter. If your kid applied for one of the competitive scholarships, you’ll hear back in the Spring if they received it or not.

Yep it’s a game. Daughter was deferred and then received a large packet of information on FAFSA and how to pay for Tulane a week or two later. It’s clear they want ED’s who can pay.

Y’alls I can’t login to my account…I literally have the password and email saved and it says email/password incorrect. I tried to change my password and it said “an account with this email doesn’t exist”… what do I do? is this happening for anyone else?

For some reason, my email switched. I’ve had my password saved for months, and have many many emails that have gone to my original email. I don’t really know why it changed suddenly but works so that’s all that matters

No, it’s for EDII. Paul Tulane / DHS are supposedly late Feb, but I’m sure it’ll be earlier than that
