@chicorymom it’s odd that it’s not standardized. The email didn’t tell me I was accepted, but said, “An update has been made to your Application Status Page (https://apply.tulane.edu). If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Our information is below, or you can visit admission.tulane.edu/contact.”
^link is changed bc I didn’t want to put the one with my name
I am an international student applying EA, and I just got accepted as a Distinguished Scholar…Really really a big surprise for me.
@loop2loop That’s an interesting thought and I really hope you are on to something! I have been curious why I have not been seeing a lot of early decision acceptances. I feel like it would be in Tulane’s best interest to accept more early decision than early action because we are guaranteed students, therefore raising their admission percentage… But maybe I’m just biased :))
Anyone from Illinois/the Midwest who applied on 11/15 hear back today?
If you’re from mass and have heard can you like this comment. Not many people from area have heard.
@hbrunner totally agree-- the way this has rolled out is very strange indeed…
if people in VA have heard can you like or reply please!!!
Anyone from WA heard yet? I haven’t…
My D got in ED in the first round of acceptances with no merit award. I see that people are getting in EA with same stats with merit awards. I think people got hurt by ED this year…

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: If I had a lower ACT, I was getting the boot for sure. I know that people say “SAT/ACT scores don’t matter have nice ECs” but thank U.S. News for basing their college ranking partially on test scores. Since I lived in “test crazy” India for my freshman and sophomore years, when I took my standardized tests when I moved I didn’t suck at them. It also helped that I studied the ACT from last to this September. Honestly, I had a chance for honors/better merit aid if I didn’t have a trashy GPA and run of the mill ECs though. Overall, I am ecstatic with the results because I wasn’t expecting much aid!
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Accepted into Indiana University
@willa99 Yes, I’m from Seattle. Got in today. I know one other who also got in today and one who got in on Thanksgiving. All EA
Anyone from northern CA heard back?
@tem339 I live in Los Angles County and heard tonight and there have definitely been other CA kids on this thread who were admitted. Best of luck to you
I’m a California kid and I still haven’t heard anything. Could that be any cause of concern?
My daughter got in . Northern California. Financial aid pending on Gibson. Submitted CSS profile last weekend and FAFSA 2 weeks back.
Yes,Tulane is an excellent school. But I feel as though people who post their stats on this thread do not accurately reflect the majority of students accepted. Before today, I saw all these kids saying they got accepted and have ACTs in the high 30’s. Of course that worried me, as I had a 28. But in the end I was accepted with merit $. Yes I had good grades, but I am not a top 20 student in my class. So people who haven’t heard back yet… don’t stress over low test scores like I did!
@purple21_ I’m from Chicago area, I applied 11/15 and did not hear anything today also!
My DD got in. She applied EA Nov. 15. From Northern CA. Presidential scholar, $32,000 merit, invited to honors college for Political Science. Also applied for need-based aid and Paul Tulane scholarship. URM (half AfAm). 34C ACT. 4.2 weighted GPA. Lots of leadership ECs. Not sure about her essays or recs but I’m sure they were strong.
She got an email saying there was update and when she logged on to portal got the confetti!
@bkablik24 I don’t think the CC population in general is representative, including applicants at top 50 schools. I think it’s skewed to top students (and parents). I’m a parent. My daughter doesn’t have time for message boards while she’s overachieving in HS, not that she would be on here if she had time.
