Are people thinking there will be another day of decisions released? I’m surprised I haven’t heard back. Is it possible that they don’t read all of the applications before dec 20th, and because of that so many people get deferred by default?

I have a feeling they may be overlooking my app because many people with lower stats have gotten in from my school, including about 6 from my school today. Maybe they have not seen the interest demonstrated by me? Is it pretty much a 75 percent chance that I will get deferred because I have not been accepted so late into the game?
I submitted my application on October 15th and heard back by November 17th!
I had an unweighted 3.64 gpa and a 2140 sat
I’ve taken 6 AP classes over the course of high school
I was offered a $17k per year merit scholarship
I’m from NorCal
My son got his admission today; I’m surprised that it took so long. I had told him that he would need to get the Tulane or Dean’s Award to attend, but he was given a $32,000 award; I understand the other scholarships are still a possibility. I’m not sure we as parents can say no with that kind of offer, even if I would prefer “free.” We will be scheduling several trips to New Orleans over the next couple of months. Fun for the family and hopefully enjoyable for him as well.
@KarinaC Congrats to you and the other recently accepted students! Most majors at Tulane are open to all. The spots are not limited. You will need to complete the Core curriculum but you can choose any major. (I believe that you need to be accepted into Architecture, but I think that this is the only school with special requirements).
This is from the web site: All students enter as undergraduates through the Newcomb-Tulane Undergraduate College. Once a student selects a major, he or she becomes affiliated with one of 5 undergraduate schools: Architecture, Business, Liberal Arts, Public Health and Tropical Medicine, or Science and Engineering.
What major are you interested in pursuing?
I want to get into the School of Architecture, the 5year pre-professional bachelor program. I e-mailed my admission counselor. I did make a portfolio, so I would like to make sure if I can pursue that major?

Advice: Seriously try to have as much fun in what you’re writing (since that’s probably one of the few things you can control at this point). Just talk about what you’re passionate it about, however weird as heck it may be or however normal it may seem–they can really tell. Tulane was a safety for me, but the vibe and academics seem amazing, and the merit money is helpful.
