Tulane EA and ED Admission Decisions - Class of 2021

Did anyone just hear now at 7:00 pm central time?

@dabmom historically Tulane does not deny anyone this early in the process. Usually students will be deferred to the regular admit pool, but even that doesn’t happen until the end of the EA (and now ED) phase.

@dabmom FYI at this point in the process they will probably only release acceptances. They usually don’t announce deferrals and denials until mid December. Keep in mind that not hearing as quickly as others do does NOT mean a deferral or denial, it just means they need more time to see how the application pool will look this year. At this point they haven’t received all the applications yet so they may not have a feel for how strong the pool of students will be this year.

@wpk321 not me):

I applied October 4th and heard back yesterday.

@chimley no word here either and application was complete October 1.

Any one from the Northeast heard back yet- specifically New York? Congrats to everyone who has ben accepted!

@purple05 I live in NY and have not heard back yet but I know multiple people who have been accepted that live in NY and CT

@wpk321 Mine was submitted (according to the portal) on the 18th, but was finished (with ACT scores) on the 20th… i live in the NW. I was hoping that not a lot of people applied from here and I would be in the first batch to get decisions… I guess not

My daughter went through this process last year, and is a very happy Tulane student today. While this waiting process seems frustrating keep in mind that it is only October and most schools will not send your decisions until late March. In terms of when you will hear - my daughter was the first to apply from her school and the last to receive her acceptance, but received a great scholarship! Don’t over read in to it, there are a lot of steps in the process. The admission team is a very thorough and caring group.

Has anyone in CT/Westchester County heard yet?

common app submitted sep 20, everything marked complete october 6… still no word and I’m in Texas

@master34 If I recall, when she went to the admissions portal, where you would usually see a column of green checkmarks denoting what items had been received, all of that was gone and just replaced with simple text like “your status has been updated”. She clicked on that link (“updated”) and it took her to a new page with the acceptance letter. The details are fuzzy for me because there was then a lot of excited yelling :slight_smile:

Anyone hear anything from Michigan?

I know that somebody mentioned getting an email from Tulane when their portal was updated with the acceptance decision. Did everyone get an email notifying them? I’m finding myself checking the portal every evening and it’s getting a little unhealthy!

@DuelingGloves i got an email !

Has anybody who applied Regular Decision heard from Tulane or only EA and ED?

My application (I applied ED) was complete on 10/18 and I live in Missouri. I have not heard back yet. I check my email, application portal and mail box every second. Lol, it’s almost sickening how badly I want to know. I met with my admission rep about two weeks ago and he said applicants would start hearing back in 1 to 2 weeks from that day. So hopefully we will all hear back very soon!

@curious2knowit im pretty sure they wont start releasing regular decisions until around february its just ed and ea applicants finding out right now

It was very quiet here after 7 central last night so I assume they may be releasing only 1-2 times a week. This was mentioned in an earlier post. I’m sure I will continue to check though…App was just complete yesterday so I need to be patient.
