I just got an email from Tulane letting me know that I can switch my early action application to ED II by January 6 if I want to. I am supposed to hear from EA by December 20th. Are they trying to tell me I’m going to be deferred and letting me know what my options are? I have no idea and neither does anybody else I’ve talked to. My college counselor said that not everybody gets a letter like this, but she’s not sure what it means. I have a 1370 on the new SAT and an unweighted 3.8 GPA with six APs and tons of honors classes. I also have very strong leadership including being current Regional president of my youth group, leadership board of friendship circle, A semester abroad and lots of leadership camps over the summer, in addition to other school extracurriculars. I also have very strong recommendations. I really loved Tulane, but I also want to see where else I get in in the process. Any advice or insight?
You can relax, that was just a form letter that was sent out to everyone. Even people that were accepted already have reported receiving it. It went out to everyone that applied.
I didn’t get it … and I was accepted
@nannypoo - do not stress. If you read through some of the threads on this site, you will see that a lot of students received this email. As long as you wrote a sincere Why Tulane essay, you will be fine…you just have to wait.
