Turning in Acceptance form 1 day late (William and Mary)

I was accepted as a transfer to both William and Mary and Virginia Tech. I just got the financial aid award letter from W&M this past weekend, so I've been fretting about my college options (stay/go to WM/go to VT) for the past few days.

Up until a hour ago, I was really thinking of going to Virginia Tech. VT would've required a few loans but I thought it was the school for me.

On the other hand, W&M would cover all my costs under their Gateway program, but something inside of me made me want to go to tech.

I'm afraid I may have made the wrong choice. W&M wants all their stuff "by May 1" and there's only 3 minutes before May 2. All the post offices are closed.

Would an acceptance form timestamped May 2 be disqualified? Should I just scratch W&M off the list since it's past due?

Colleges would not generally throw away your application if it is late a short time. But some do. I suggest that you call them and ask.

I think that it won't be a problem because they do not actually do not actually start the finalization process till far later (primarily because of many students postmarking it May 1st and mail lagging).
