Tutoring Kids For Free?

Hey guys, I want to tutor kids. I know there are tons of people looking for help as far as ACT [high school] and general subjects [elementary]. I'm willing to do it for free, but don't know how to reach out.

I used to tutor in my elementary school [8th grade] but school ends at 2:15 and tutoring at 3:00. I end high school at 3:00 with an hour's drive.

Tutor at your own high school or the middle school. I stopped at my elementary school after I joined marching band and became the president of two clubs.

I can’t like I said.(:

Why can’t you tutor at your own high school? Some clubs may already offer tutoring (e.g. Mu Alpha Theta offering math tutoring, or Rho Kappa offering social studies tutoring); if they do, consider joining them. At my school all members have to do a certain amount of tutoring hours each semester within those subject-specific honor societies.

If such clubs and tutoring sessions don’t already exist… CREATE THEM! Start a tutoring club where you and other students like you – who want to tutor – CAN, and also get community service hours. Maybe find a teacher sponsor and stay after school certain days for certain times, or maybe even do lunch tutoring (we do that at my school as well). It’d be great to put on a college app that you started a school-wide voluntary tutoring club/organization.

Otherwise, just put the word out there that you’re up to tutor in whatever subjects. If you want to tutor Spanish, tell your Spanish teacher and trust me, he/she will most likely put the word out to their students because they want them to find outside help when they need it.

There is tutoring offered but by teachers.(: I will do so. Thanks.(:

Put up a fb page or post fliers where bulletin boards are (our library has a huge one) with your phone number.

Good idea!(:
