This is a pretty random question, but would I need a tuxedo for college? I plan on rushing, and I'm wondering if there will be a few formal events that I would need a tuxedo for?

Probably not a Tux, but you might need a normal suit.

You can probably just rent a tux for formal. You’ll probably want a typical business suit though.

Rent a tux but buy a suit.

Yeah I thought so, thanks for the responses!

What might one need a suit for in college? Job interviews?

Yes. I know that a lot fraternities have their pledges wear suits for some events as well. There are also certain events on campus that may require suits or at the very least slacks, shirt and a tie (especially in business schools).

As a brother in a fraternity, I cannot express how important it is to own a suit and blazer.

When I dormed, they had a formal dance during the spring semester where you needed to wear a suit and for career fairs, you needed to dress in business-type clothes.

Frats would also have events where you needed to wear something nice. These were mostly business frats or the ones where they had a lot of rich kids.
