TV Size in East Halls?

What is the best size TV to use in East Hall rooms? Will I be able to fit anything bigger than 19"? Also, where do most people place the tv?

Thanks!

Al thought I think that the room size is the same (as in East) I would like to know if I can get a 24" computer screen/TV (I will use it both for my laptop and as a TV) in the room at Atherton.

The buildings vary so much, but it really depends on where you plan on putting it. I had a roommate who put a 26" tube TV in Pollock Halls, and while it was a little bulky it was not really in the way.

By far the best solution is to wait until you are in the room and have met your roommate - you might find that you have a ton of space and both love TV, in which case you can go pretty big, but you might also find that with everything else in the room you barely fit a TV at all…

My son found that a 19" worked the best. He had a hard time finding space for computer (laptop), printer, xbox and TV but managed to work it out. He ended up putting the TV on the desk and then he could turn it to either watch TV in bed or have it on while studying at his desk. He originally thought he could put the TV on the window sill but that didn’t work out - as it was narrow and he was afraid it would get knocked off.

Thanks ljrfrm, that’s what I thought from pictures I’ve seen. 19" it is!

I had a 40" tv freshman year and it worked out great. They have so many channels in the dorms now, including HD, that you might wanna get a bigger TV if you can. 20" is probably a good size, but going larger couldn’t hurt because you could use it in an apartment if you decide to move into one later.

As for computer monitor, size is a little bit more constrained. I had a 24" monitor for a PC and it was a bit too large. In east you can unscrew the microwave and sit the TV where it used to be or just put the TV on top of the supplied microwave/fridge.

D had a 19" sitting on top of the fridge/microwave combo which was in front of the window.
