Hey,
So I got took Chem 2AH (big mistake) as a freshman in fall 2014 and got a C+ and then also I took Mat 17A and got a C. I am taking Chem 2A in winter and know that I will increase my grade. So, is there any way to remove the two C’s? I’m trying to go to grad school and wouldn’t want a C to show up. Im gonna take 2a, so it looks like that I have mastered the material. I fell horribly sick the first month and almost didn’t attend lectures at all during a span of 2-3 weeks, so I know I can do better if I get the chance to retake these classes. Any advice or hint to retake will be helpful.
Thanks
Unfortunately, the Cs are going to stay on your transcript forever. You’re not allowed to repeat courses you received s C in, only Ds, Fs, NP, or Incomplete under certain conditions.

Would CHE 2A be considered a repeat of CHE 2AH? If it is, you won’t be allowed to take CHE 2A as far as I’m aware. You can only repeat classes where you got a D or F.
There’s no way to remove the Cs that you got. As I said, the only cases where you’re allowed to retake classes are if you previously got a D or F (or NP, if you took the class P/NP). Even if you’re allowed to take CHE 2A after taking and passing CHE 2AH, as far as I’m aware your CHE 2A grade won’t replace your CHE 2AH grade.
It’s generally expected that there’s some adjusting period for incoming freshmen, and a couple of Cs won’t kill your chances for grad school. Just do everything you can in future quarters to keep your grades up.
Incidentally, in your case I would say to just go on to CHE 2B. As you’ve already learned, in your case you shouldn’t take the honors series. But really, what good would taking CHE 2A do you when you’ve already taken and passed CHE 2AH (and presumably have a decent understanding of the material, being as you passed an honors class)? I say to take this as a lesson learned and move on. Ultimately it’s up to you, of course, depending on restrictions on taking CHE 2A in your circumstances.
