I applied to Iowa State a few days ago so that I could get into a college and know that I'm at least going somewhere after this year. I was accepted, but I just found out that I have two weeks to accept the offer of admission!! What gives? Am I still able to apply to other colleges, or do I just have to decide whether or not I want to go to Iowa State in the next two weeks??

It looks like you do need to make the deposit to hold your place within two weeks of acceptance, but most of the deposit is refundable until May 1. Slightly less of the deposit may be available after May 1.

Call the admissions office to confirm.

Am I still able to apply to other colleges? Because as great as IA state is, there are others I’d like to apply to.

Yes, it looks like you’re still allowed to apply to other colleges. Just do remember to cancel your admission if you decide to go somewhere else. (And again, confirm this with the college, unless $300 isn’t a significant amount to you.)

Thank you so much. Of course the $330 is a significant amount to me, but if I do decide to go to a different school before May 1st 2013, I can get a $295 refund. amarkov and KatMT, thank you so much. You really helped put me at ease.

This does not appear to be an Early Decision school, therefor it is non-binding. You should be able to apply to other universities.

Call the admissions office to confirm. You do not need to say you have already applied and been accepted, simply that you are trying to figure out the application timeline and the refund policy, since it appears that you would hear back from Iowa State and have to make a deposit to hold your place before you would have heard back from other schools.
