Please clarify. No one who has applied this year has yet been rejected or admitted.

It is a misconception to believe that because a college (such as education) has a lower middle 50% range for rank/test score than another (such as Arts & Sciences) it is therefore easier to be admitted. College of Education, to which you apply for pre-school, primary, and spec ed (and not for secondary school teaching) does not admit many (usually in the 270 range to get 150 to enroll), has one of the lower admit rates at the university (usually low to mid 50% range), does a full file review, including essays, and just because you have high stats does not mean you will be admitted over someone with lower.

Especially in the College of Education, admissions considers the whole person rather than their stats. If you do not more than adequately convey your commitment to becoming a teacher (and it has to be a better reason than "I like kids"), as well as involvement in your high school and/or community, you're likely to get rejected, even if you have a 4.0.

But drusba is right. Admissions for next Fall have not been determined yet. Unless your friend's friend applied last year or sometime earlier, she should not yet know the status of her application.
